Zorko Cerar, civil engineer

After graduating from the Secondary Technical School in Ljubljana in 1979, he started working at SCT. After passing the proficiency examination he was appointed the head of several construction sites in Slovenia, Monte Negro and Iraq.

In 1985, he took over the management of the project in Monte Negro as the responsible works manger. From 1986 to 1989 he worked as the assistant to the director of the projects in the Karavanke tunnel and the southern Ljubljana bypass. From 1989 to 1999 he was employed at SCT as the director of all projects in the field of ecological programmes.

From 1999 to 2006, he was the commercial project manager responsible for national road and municipal projects. In that period, he also completed his part-time study and obtained the degree of civil engineer. From 2007, he worked as the director of the commercial department for civil engineering constructions.
